Putting Google to the Test

He was staring at me. Smiling and almost drooling. A bobble-headed boy with a mouth full of marshmallows was staring and smiling back at me in Pandora’s ad space. Overwhelmed with intrigue, I clicked on the Google Demo Slam ad to learn what these marshmallows were all about.

One click gave me a front row seat at the Google grandstand where tech demo videos were battling for viewer votes. Demoslam.com hosts a variety of videos posted by Google fans who tested Google features in new, fun and exciting ways. Google realized that providing a stage where creativity and charisma collide allows these demos to become gotta-show-your-friends awesome (yes, that’s the technical term, check its “About” page). And yes, I’m completely guilty. I didn’t think twice about posting the link of the Japanese Skydivers on my Facebook page. But in the end, my Slam vote went to the chubby bunny boys who had me at marshmallow.

Which Slam is your favorite?

Google Earth – Skydiving

Google Goggles – Mt. Rushmore

Google Street View – Road Trip Route 66

Google Search by Voice – Chubby Bunny
